Dr. Jennifer Jurewicz is a pelvic health physical therapist with a background in orthopedics. She utilizes a whole body approach, and has a strong desire to help every patient achieve their goals and lead an independent, active lifestyle. She graduated from the prestigious New York University in 2013 as both a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. After school, she worked in a busy outpatient orthopedic clinic, gaining experience with a wide variety of patient cases from post- surgical to deconditioning or overuse injuries to chronic pain.
Her curiosity for problem solving and treating chronic pain patients, along with her own personal health experiences, sparked her interest in pelvic floor physical therapy. She began working here at EMH Physical Therapy in 2016 and has learned so much under the tutelage of practice owner Evelyn Hecht as well as her colleagues, patients and numerous courses through the educational institution Herman and Wallace.
Jennifer loves treating any pelvic cases from dyspareunia or general pelvic pain to constipation and incontinence. She believes in looking at the big picture, from lifestyle, body mechanics and posture, to nutrition and the psychosocial aspects of pain or dysfunction.
Currently, she is studying for her pelvic specialist exam next May. While not studying, she loves to soak up the culture of NYC, attending art shows and concerts, gobbling up Greek food in her local neighborhood of Astoria, practicing yoga in the park, taking hip-hop dancing classes and basically enjoying all that this great city has to offer.
